Remote or home-based work is not part of this role.

About Us

Anchor Concrete Products Limited is a leader in the design and manufacturing of high-performance precast concrete infrastructure products. We are proud to combine technical excellence with customer-focused service. As part of our continued growth, we are seeking a Sales Representative to drive sales growth by developing strong customer relationships and offering expert knowledge of our product lines.

Job Overview

The Sales Representative is a self-motivated professional who thrives in client-facing situations and knows the value of being out in the field. This role is best suited for someone who builds strong relationships through face-to-face interactions, whether that means visiting job sites, meeting with developers, or representing Anchor at industry events.

The successful candidate will balance their time between client engagement and office-based responsibilities. When not actively meeting with customers or attending industry events, the Sales Representative is expected to maintain a presence in the Kingston office to collaborate with colleagues, follow up on leads, and support day-to-day sales operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Maintain Customer Relationships
    • Regularly get out into the field to meet with customers, specifiers, and consultants.
    • Represent Anchor at trade shows, industry events, and client sites.
    • Maintain strong, in-person connections with key accounts while following up on leads and inquiries.
  • Drive Sales and Revenue Growth
    • Proactively seek out and qualify new business opportunities through networking, research, and referrals.
    • Take initiative in following up on submitted quotations, securing commitments, and gathering market intelligence.
    • Consistently meet or exceed revenue and growth targets through self-driven effort and persistence.
    • Maintain a strong presence in the market through site visits and on-the-ground engagement.
  • Technical Expertise and Quotations
    • Read and interpret plans, specifications, and drawings to understand project requirements.
    • Collaborate with Estimating and Engineering teams to prepare accurate takeoffs and quotations.
    • Utilize ERP systems and established pricing methods to prepare quotations and sales orders.
    • Provide technical support regarding Anchor products, applications, and specifications.
  • Order Management and Production Coordination
    • Prepare complete and accurate sales orders, including shipping and delivery instructions.
    • Coordinate with the Sales Coordinator and Production Coordinator to meet customer delivery schedules.
    • Monitor project progress and address any technical concerns that arise.
  • Account Management and Customer Support
    • Monitor customer purchase patterns and recommend additional products or solutions.
    • Assist in counter sales, inbound customer traffic, and order management.
    • Contribute to marketing initiatives by suggesting advertising and new product opportunities.
    • Be present in the office when not on the road, ensuring active participation in team meetings, customer follow-ups, and internal coordination.
Skills & Competencies
  • Outgoing, confident, and comfortable in client-facing environments.
  • Self-motivated with a proactive approach to scheduling site visits and client meetings.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust and rapport quickly.
  • Adaptable and effective when working outside the office environment.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Ability to pass a Criminal Background Check.
  • Proven experience in sales or account management, preferably in construction or manufacturing.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage clients effectively.
  • Demonstrated ability in business development and identifying new market opportunities.
  • Ability to analyze market trends and adjust strategies accordingly.
  • Secondary school diploma required; post-secondary education in business administration, marketing, civil engineering technology, or a related field is an asset.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel.
Working Conditions and Physical Demands
  • Combination of office, plant, and customer site environments.
  • Exposure to construction sites and manufacturing environments.
  • Extended periods of computer and telephone use.
  • Occasional physical activity such as standing, walking, and visiting sites.
  • Frequent interruptions and a dynamic workflow requiring multitasking.
  • This role requires a mix of travel and in-office work. When not engaged in customer visits, trade shows, or field activity, the Sales Representative is expected to work from the Kingston office.
