About the role:

We are seeking a strategic and results-driven Sales Operations Manager to join our Commercial Excellence team. This role supports Novartis Therapeutic Area (TA) Heads in driving execution excellence, amplifying our commercial team's impact, and accelerating the adoption of Novartis medications to improve and extend Canadian patients' lives. The Sales Operations Manager will collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance sales performance and efficiency.

This role is within the Sales Operations Team and reports to the Sales Operations Lead.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Goal Setting: Lead the goal-setting process, ensuring timely and effective delivery and communication each cycle.
  2. Incentive Planning and Payout: Develop and refine incentive plans that motivate field behavior and reward top performers; oversee the payout process.
  3. Targeting and Segmentation: Lead HCP targeting, collaborating with stakeholders for accuracy and facilitating call planning; support TAs in HCP segmentation.
  4. Field Force Sizing and Alignment: Oversee territory design, field force sizing, and alignment.
  5. Insight Generation: Generate strategic insights related to sales operations and provide recommendations to TA leadership to improve commercial effectiveness.
  6. Benchmarking: Benchmark local field engagement against top 11 countries and initiate ongoing improvement initiatives.
  7. Simplification and Automation: Streamline sales processes for automation, quality, and triangulation.
  8. Data Quality and Accuracy: Regularly verify data quality and accuracy.
Essential Requirements:
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in the Canadian pharmaceutical industry, preferably in salesforce effectiveness or analytics.
  • Strong business acumen, critical thinking, prioritization, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with PowerBI, Salesforce, Veeva, Excel, and understanding of IQVIA datasets (e.g., TSA, Xponent, GPM, CompScript).
  • Experience working cross-functionally, including vendor management.
  • University degree or higher.
Desirable Requirements:
  • Proficiency in tools/languages like Dataiku, Python, and SQL.
  • Bilingual in French and English.
