The Sales Manager holds a key leadership role in managing sales operations and strategies on a national level. They are responsible for leading the sales team, developing sales plans, and executing strategies to achieve and exceed the company's sales objectives and revenue targets.

The Sales Manager is a senior leadership position responsible for driving sales performance on a national scale. They play a crucial role in formulating and implementing sales strategies, managing the sales team, and fostering strong client relationships to meet and exceed sales objectives.

What you’ll be doing

  • Sales Strategy and Planning: Develop and implement comprehensive sales strategies and plans in alignment with the company's objectives to drive revenue growth and expand market share on a national scale.
  • Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and manage the process Industries sales team, including hiring, training, setting performance targets, and providing guidance to ensure the team meets or exceeds sales targets.
  • Key Account Management: Oversee relationships with major distributors and end-user clients, maintain strong rapport, and actively participate in negotiations to secure contracts or partnerships.
  • Market Analysis and Forecasting: Conduct market research, analyze industry trends, and gather competitor information to identify new opportunities and make informed decisions. Develop sales forecasts and strategies based on market analysis.
  • Sales Performance Management: Track sales performance metrics, KPIs, and analyze sales data to evaluate the team's performance, implementing adjustments and improvements where necessary.
  • Collaboration with Marketing: Work closely with the marketing team to align sales strategies with marketing campaigns, promotional activities, and product launches.
  • Sales Reporting: Prepare regular sales reports, presentations, and updates for senior management, providing insights and recommendations for improvement and achievement of sales targets.
  • Budget Management: Develop and manage the sales budget, allocating resources effectively to support sales initiatives and operations.

Who you’ll be working with

  • You will be working directly with the Sales team and customers.
  • Interacting with other department managers.
  • Working with key support staff at our various factories globally.
  • Networking with counterparts/colleagues globally.
  • Working with Americas Business development managers and marketing teams.

This is what you’ll need to be successful in this role

  • Degree in Engineering, Business administration, Marketing, or related field. An MBA or relevant certifications can be advantageous.
  • 10 years of experience in sales management, with a proven track record of success in driving sales and managing a national sales team.
  • Knowledge of the Canadian market nationally.
  • Experience in the Industrial sector (Environmental, mining, pulp and paper, F&B etc..) mandatory.
  • Strong leadership and managerial skills, with the ability to motivate and lead a diverse team to achieve set targets.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Proficiency in CRM software and MS Office suite.
  • Ability to travel as needed to manage and support the national sales team.
