Position Summary :

This role involves managing sales targets, supporting the GTM strategy, and implementing sales tactics. The Sales Manager will lead and manage a team of Territory Sales Representatives through coaching, mentoring, and in-person support.

Role Responsibilities :
- Support the overall sales strategy and sales tactics implementation, including all retail and grower interactions and activities.
- Implement action plans that define objectives, goals, schedules, and assignments to achieve targeted sales opportunities with the sales team.
- Verify and report on sales activities, including leads generated, sales orders received, sales by product, and customer lists, determining appropriate reporting frequency (weekly, monthly, quarterly).
- Ensure communications support sales plan objectives and meet organizational expenditure budgets.
- Support Key Accounts team with distribution strategies and multiple channel selling approaches.
- Continue to build, develop, and manage the sales team to execute sales and service initiatives to the highest level.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Education :
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Sales and Marketing, Agriculture, or a related field.
Experience / Skills / Abilities :
- Strong verbal, written communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- Proven business acumen and strategic thinking.
- Strong leadership and communication proficiency.
- Ability to develop and manage a high-performing sales team.
- Experience in business development, competitor analysis, and sales strategy development.
- Understanding and user of social media platforms and knowing the importance of online storytelling and product awareness.
- Experience with all types of communication platforms (Outlook, Teams), CRM tools, and MS Office.
- 7 to 10 years of experience in the Western Canadian crop protection marketplace is required.
- A self-starter, entrepreneurial type, able to take initiative and conduct yourself in a professional manner with little direct supervision.
- A strong team player and thrives in the role of being a team leader supporting the sales team’s needs in the designated sales region.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to be utilized with retail partners, growers, industry personnel, and internal colleagues.
Job Expectations / Working Conditions :
- This position requires frequent travel (over 50%) in the assigned geographic region along with some national and international travel.
- Must be able to travel outside the local area and overnight as needed.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment, managing multiple priorities.
- Hold a driver’s license in good standing.
