Position Purpose:

The Sales Executive, a member of Shred-it's sales team, is responsible for direct sales of Shred-it's services to potential and existing customers within an assigned territory. This includes all aspects of sales, pipeline building, qualifying opportunities, managing the sales cycle, closing orders, and following through to revenue. The Sales Executive ensures adherence to Shred-it's policies, standards, and practices, and aligns with the company's vision, mission, and values.


Territory Coverage: The Sales Executive will cover the greater Ottawa area, including Belleville, Kingston, and other parts of Peterborough. The candidate must reside within Ottawa.


Key Job Activities:

  1. Aggressively sell document destruction services within the territory.
  2. Develop and set specific, measurable sales targets with the District Sales Manager.
  3. Maintain a pipeline of opportunities for the territory.
  4. Create and execute a sales strategy for the territory.
  5. Maintain expertise in Shred-it services and competitive solutions.
  6. Generate leads through cold-calling, door-to-door visits, appointments, and direct mail campaigns.
  7. Participate in sales and training programs provided by Shred-it.
  8. Implement best practices to sell solutions to customers.
  9. Participate in promotional campaigns and special projects as directed.
  10. Report daily activities and sales results to the District Sales Manager.
  11. Follow all security and safety policies related to operations.
  12. Engage with customers to understand their needs and requirements.
  13. Build and maintain relationships with current and potential customers.
  14. Exceed customer expectations as a helpful expert.
  15. Perform other duties as assigned.
  16. This is a hunter position.

Experience:

  • Post-secondary education preferred but not required.
  • 1-2 years of sales experience in B2B services is preferred but not required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and internet research.
  • Understanding of sales cycles and techniques.
  • Ability to travel within the territory.
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
