Job Description

Job Title: Director of Sales – Industrial - Water

Department: Sales

Reports To: VP, Sales

Status: Exempt

Summary

The Director of Sales – Industrial will lead and expand Newterra’s sales efforts across industrial markets, driving growth in key verticals such as manufacturing, mining, power generation, food & beverage, and remediation. This strategic role is responsible for driving revenue growth, developing customer relationships, and leading a team of experienced sales professionals. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in water and wastewater treatment technologies and a proven ability to deliver customized solutions in demanding industrial environments.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute strategic sales plans to achieve growth and profitability targets in the industrial sector (Light/Medium Industrial, Food & Beverage, Remediation, and Commercial)
  • Identify and prioritize new business opportunities and emerging markets.
  • Cultivate relationships with key decision-makers at industrial clients, consulting engineers, and strategic partners.
  • Collaborate with the marketing, engineering, and product development teams to align sales strategies with customer needs and company capabilities.
  • Lead, coach, and manage an international team of sales professionals.
  • Oversee the entire sales process, from initial lead to contract negotiation and closure.
  • Monitor market trends, competitive activity, and customer feedback to inform key stakeholders and develop pricing strategies.
  • Report on sales performance metrics and forecasts to senior leadership.
  • Promote Newterra’s portfolio of technologies including reverse osmosis, Membrane Bio-Reactor, Aeration, and Media Filtration to address customer-specific water and wastewater treatment needs.

Other Duties And Responsibilities

  • Responsible for performing duties in a safe manner and promoting safety in accordance with Newterra’s safety policies and procedures.
  • Complies with Quality Management Systems in accordance Newterra’s internal quality standards.
  • Complete all responsibilities while ensuring adherence to Newterra’s Delegation of Authority.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Business, or related field (MBA is a plus).
  • 10+ years of experience in B2B sales, with a minimum of 5 years in a leadership role within the water treatment, environmental, or industrial technology sectors.
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding multi-million-dollar sales targets.
  • Deep understanding of the Industry pertaining to industrial, food & beverage, and remediation water treatment applications and customer pain points.
  • Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25%, depending on customer and team needs.
  • Strong networking skills.

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

  • Experience selling engineered or custom-built systems (CAPEX solutions).
  • Familiarity with public-private partnerships or government funding programs.
  • Technical background in water filtration systems or environmental engineering.
  • Experience with engineered-to-order (ETO) or build-to-spec systems.
  • Familiarity with environmental remediation projects and permitting requirements.
  • Knowledge of lifecycle service offerings and post-installation support models.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Regularly required to sit for prolonged periods; required to stand, walk, and use business equipment daily such as a computer, copier, telephone, etc.; occasionally required to reach overhead, bend, and lift objects of up to 15 lbs. Complex thinking and analysis required with the ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely.

Work Environment

Generally, works in office environment, however, may be required to visit client sites and be exposed to indoor or outdoor industry specific elements.
