This key player is the direct liaison between the client and internal teams of supplier.

Job Responsibilities: The Sales Director successfully meets program initiatives by supporting the client relationship, leading the program sales team, and recommending and deploying improvements to the campaign’s operation.

Client Relationship: Understanding of client’s needs and how our services meet those needs.

  • Possess thorough knowledge of software industry client and this type of business environment.
  • Understand how the client will evaluate our performance quantitatively and qualitatively.
  • Establish program/campaign deliverables which Supplier commits to providing client through relationship.
  • Provide strategic insight and direction to program management and client as needed to improve performance/productivity of client programs.
  • Work directly with the client and internal departments during all phases of a program to ensure that the client’s expectations are met or exceeded.
  • Contact each client on a frequency basis to check his or her satisfaction level.
  • Provide frequent updates to Supplier leadership on the status of clients' programs.
  • Ensure that all program timelines and deliverables are met.
  • Identify and document SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) for the program.

Sales Management: Provide in-person direction, lead and support to the team of Inside Sales Managers in their day-to-day activities.

  • Ensure a team of inside sales representatives, via their inside sales managers, meet several and varied individual and collective sales goals, metrics, and standards.
  • Know all inside sales manager roles and responsibilities; serve as back-up when needed.
  • Recruit, hire, train, mentor, and coach sales managers.
  • Schedule weekly team meetings to review/discuss team objectives demonstrating leadership with strong motivational, mentoring/coaching skills.
  • Conduct frequent in-person one-on-one reviews with all Inside Sales Representatives to ensure inside sales managers comply with sales process and procedures, generate successful outcomes against the compensation plans, reinforce best practices, and overcome areas of weakness.
  • Play a crucial role in ensuring that the inside sales managers adhere to and deliver key guidelines set by The Human Resources Department, including, but not limited to performance management and retention initiatives.
  • Ensure that members of the sales manager team follow processes, provide all deliverables to the client in a timely manner, respond to client requests in a timely manner, and provide overall good customer service.
  • Communicate new processes and capabilities to inside sales managers and direct them on how they can apply these to their existing teams.
  • Generate results with the team by effectively leveraging cross-functional partnerships within their peer group, client community, and company management structure while meeting the needs of internal and external customers.
  • Show initiative by solving problems and suggesting improvements to continually produce better results and increase satisfaction among Company clients.
  • Pay close attention to detail, setting an example of the importance of quality in their work.
  • Be organized and efficient, and meet any specified due dates set by management.

Facilitate discussions and activities related to the improvement of our services to better meet the needs of customers.

  • Provide executive summary material needed for Quarterly Review for clients.
  • Review program quantitative results and ROI with program management.
  • Consistently look for ways to improve upon program results, and document what works for future reference.
    • Conduct ongoing analysis of client programs, identify potential red flags in programs, and take appropriate action.
  • Direct all program team members to similarly look for ways to continually improve program results.

Qualifications: A successful Sales Director will have:

  • College degree in business administration, marketing, or similar.
  • Five years or more Client Services, Business management experience.
  • Eight years or more marketing and sales leadership experience.
  • Business acumen and more than three years P&L and budget responsibility.
  • Knowledge and experience working within a solution-selling or consultative-selling methodology.
  • Experience with enterprise software solutions, software licensing arrangements, and the workings of large, complex organizations.
  • Advanced knowledge of our client’s products, service, culture, and means of doing business.
  • Entrepreneurial drive and work ethic.
  • Knowledge, appreciation, and successful experience working with Virtual Teams to accomplish objectives.
  • Strong focus on customer and partner satisfaction.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Demonstrated effectiveness with personal ethics and integrity.
