As a Sales Associate, you will have an exciting opportunity to grow your sales career with the industry leader. You will support the business plan through profitable revenue generation and gain valuable hands-on training and real-world experience in the field, selling to actual customers. Location: This position can be based anywhere within one of our 1200+ locations across North America. It involves working in conjunction with local branches and independently. Applicants must be within driving distance of a branch. Contact us to discuss location options and potential relocation.
Sales Development Program - What We Do:
- Sales Performance: Improve time to productivity with automated learning paths, certification on execution, and retention.
- Coaching: Weekly 1:1 coaching sessions in a structured environment for reps and managers.
- Skills Development: Build confidence through video role plays, simulated sales scenarios, and field ride-alongs.
- Micro Learning: Distribute bite-sized content via engaging videos, quizzes, and challenges.
- Analytics: Provide real-time visibility into achievements, capabilities, and knowledge gaps.
- Gamification: Motivate teams with leaderboards and badges.
- Sales Tools: Access content through internal and customer-facing programs.
- Artificial Intelligence: Use descriptive and predictive intelligence to maximize engagement and proficiency.
What You'll Do:
- Qualify and quantify customer needs using our CRM system, SalesForce.com, and persuasive sales techniques.
- Collect primary decision-maker contact information and customer needs for future campaigns.
- Utilize marketing and sales tools to identify and acquire new customers.
- Recover declining and dormant customers using sales tools and our value proposition.
- Support and learn about branch operations.
- Use United Rentals' IT systems for quotes, rentals, sales, reservations, and territory management.
- Coordinate with branch departments to ensure customer satisfaction and communicate field issues.
- Work with Inside Sales Representatives to provide solutions regarding equipment needs, demonstrations, quotations, and credit applications.
- Negotiate prices on equipment rentals and sales according to policies.
- Engage customers in local events and promotions.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- One year of sales-related experience preferred.
- Strong planning, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, with at least one year of experience.
- Effective presentation skills and sales orientation.
- Strong teamwork and organizational skills.
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
- Willingness and ability to relocate.
