Job Summary
The Sales Coordinator is an inside sales professional passionate about selling the sports and recreational experience with a competitive advantage. They are responsible for uncovering additional sport surface sales and booking opportunities through managing complex surface flow, including contracts, spot rentals, public programs, third-party tournaments, birthday parties, and corporate events.
This role supports the entire sales and community outreach process, from promoting the complex’s products and services to maintaining ongoing communication with customers throughout their relationship.
Accountabilities
Business Goals, Ongoing Planning and Work Management
Sales & Revenue Development
- Adhere to and support Canlan’s Mission, Vision, Culture, policies, procedures, and the Canlan SPORTS Promise.
- Manage and maintain operating systems related to Ice Contracts, Spot Rentals, Public Programs, and tournaments.
- Develop and promote public programs, manage equipment rentals, and create new third-party tournament and rental opportunities.
- Retain existing contracts and grow surface sales with targets set by management.
- Handle contracts, including signing and payment terms, and manage payment plans.
- Conduct competitor analysis and perform other duties as assigned.
- Assist in developing and executing sales strategies and community outreach plans.
- Support the creation of the annual sports surface plan to maximize opportunities.
- Build relationships within the market to generate new revenue and maximize existing customer revenue.
- Participate in monthly and quarterly reviews of sales effectiveness.
- Work as the Manager On Duty during shifts as required.
Customer Focus and Relationship Management
- Ensure customers experience high satisfaction and provide ongoing relationship development to maximize revenue and ensure business sustainability.
- Coordinate in-house tournament initiatives and act as the point of contact for third-party events.
Financial and Administrative Management
- Assist in managing contracts and accounts receivable processes.
- Provide performance reports and strategic recommendations.
- Support other duties as assigned by the Sales Manager.
Strategic Relationships and Conflict Management
- Support collaboration with sport surface, food & beverage, and sports store departments to meet complex goals.
Qualifications and Attributes
- Post-secondary diploma or degree in business, marketing, or recreation (asset).
- 1-2 years of experience in a sports/recreational environment (asset).
- Proven sales closing experience and inside sales background (asset).
- Strong customer service, organizational, communication, and follow-up skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office, database management, and social media.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, including flexible scheduling.
