The Role

As a Sales & Business Development Representative, you will be responsible for identifying and securing new clients while managing ongoing relationships to ensure service excellence. This role combines sales, technical expertise, and account management to foster long-term partnerships. You will proactively generate leads, develop proposals, and negotiate contracts while ensuring profitable project execution. Your ability to build trust, drive business growth, and collaborate with internal teams will be essential to our continued success.

Keys Tasks

The Sales & Business Development Representative’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

Business Development:

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the HVAC and mechanical service industry.
  • Develop and implement a strategic sales plan targeting ideal clients.
  • Leverage LinkedIn, construction databases, referrals, and CRM tools to build and maintain a strong prospect list.
  • Conduct outreach via phone, email, and in-person meetings to generate leads.
  • Lead discovery meetings to assess client needs, budget, and decision-making processes.
  • Work with estimating teams to develop proposals and pricing.
  • Present proposals confidently, address objections, and guide clients to a decision.
  • Participate in external sales training and mentorship to refine business development skills.

Account Management & Client Relations:

  • Serve as the primary contact for newly acquired clients, ensuring a seamless onboarding experience.
  • Build and maintain long-term client relationships through trust, reliability, and proactive communication.
  • Provide consistent follow-up to enhance client satisfaction and retention.
  • Develop strong rapport with facilities managers, property managers, and general contractors.
  • Identify opportunities for additional services and upselling.
  • Act as a trusted advisor, offering tailored solutions to client needs.

Collaboration & Teamwork:

  • Work closely with estimating, operations, and service teams to align sales efforts with execution capabilities.
  • Clearly communicate project scope and client expectations to internal teams.
  • Address internal challenges that may impact service delivery.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and participate in sales and operations meetings.
  • Track and report sales activity and progress using CRM and internal reporting tools.

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Post-secondary education in Business, Sales, Marketing, or related field considered an asset.

Experience

  • 1-3 years of experience in business development, account management, or sales within a technical or service-based industry.
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
  • Experience managing a sales pipeline and working with CRM tools.
  • Industry experience in construction (HVAC), facility management, or contracting is an asset.
  • Background in project coordination and operational execution is an asset.
  • Additional training in sales methodologies or technical services is an advantage.
