Are you open to working part-time up to full-time hours during our busy Spring/Summer season for 2025? This includes open availability to work mornings, evenings, and weekends.

Kent Building Supplies is seeking passionate individuals to join our team and provide outstanding customer service! We have openings for Sales Associates across multiple departments and Material Handlers in our Lumber Yard and Garden Centers.

Contract positions available from March/April to September 2025.

As a Contract Associate at KENT, you will warmly welcome and interact with customers to thoroughly understand their needs and help them choose the right products for their projects. Whether you are on the Sales Floor or in the Lumber Yard, delivering exceptional customer service is our top priority as the leading home improvement destination in Atlantic Canada!

Responsibilities
  1. Approach interactions and learning opportunities with a curious mindset.
  2. Take initiative and confidently guide customer interactions.
  3. Provide superior customer service by adhering to our sales and service model.
  4. Complete product knowledge training and stay informed about current sales and promotions.
  5. Maintain store standards, including inventory and merchandising.
  6. Load and unload materials, with heavy lifting required.
  7. Work outside in all weather conditions.
  8. Prioritize safety in all tasks.
Qualifications
  1. Strong communication skills and a collaborative team player.
  2. Self-motivated and proactive in serving customers.
  3. Positive attitude and willingness to learn and be cross-trained in other departments.
  4. High attention to detail.
  5. Ability to lift up to 55 lbs.
  6. Flexible availability to work days, evenings, and weekends (rotating shifts).
  7. Must be at least 16 years old.
