Job summary

RONA is hiring a plant expert to help customers bring their gardening projects to life. You will greet customers, assess needs, and offer informed product advice, while promoting merchandise and maintaining compelling plant displays.

Qualifications

• Experience in a similar sales role.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Genuine passion for plants and gardening.
• Knowledge of annuals, perennials, shrubs, trees and indoor plants.
• Garden center, nursery or greenhouse experience is an asset.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Friendly, positive and approachable.
• Able to lift, carry and move plants and products.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers warmly and ensure an excellent customer experience.
• Assess customer needs and provide well informed and specialized advice about products.
• Present merchandise (including demos), emphasize features, and recommend complementary items.
• Contribute to merchandising of products in the department (displays, visuals, signage).
• Stay informed of new products and their technical applications.
• Contribute to achieving sales targets.
• Stay informed of promotions and flyers.
• Follow store policies on loss prevention and health and safety.
• Other related tasks to ensure the store runs smoothly.
• Be the go-to plant expert for customers and help choose plants and provide care advice.
• Create beautiful displays and seasonal features.
• Support sales and provide exceptional customer service.
