Job summary

Staples Canada in Alliston, Ontario is seeking a Part-time Retail Associate to deliver exceptional customer service, assist customers with in-store print and services, and apply our selling model to tailor recommendations.

You will work with store leadership to meet sales and margin goals, handle POS transactions, and ensure print orders are fulfilled accurately from intake to pickup while maintaining inventory and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Prior retail experience (3 months to 1 year) preferred.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team.

Responsibilities

• Engage with customers and sell tailored products and services using all tools and techniques to anticipate and meet needs.
• Handle transactions using the POS system, including shipping transactions and marketing tools to convert customers.
• Fulfill steps required for intake or pick up of customer orders in Print, including filtering orders from the print dashboard, phone, and at the counter.
• Ensure machines are stocked with paper, toners, and supplies. Catalogue print orders according to standards and bin orders.
• Maintain merchandising and signage standards in print and cash areas; ensure inventory control.
• Learn and follow all standards required in Print and Services areas, including checklists, audits and brand standards.

Specifically, you will

• Engage with and sell to all our customers by offering tailored products and services using all tools and techniques available in our selling model to anticipate and meet future customer needs.
• Handle transactions using the Point of Sale (POS) system, including shipping transactions and marketing tools to convert customers.
• Fulfill steps required for intake or pick up of customer orders in Print, including filtering orders out of the print dashboard, phone, and at the counter.
• Ensure machines are always stocked with paper, toners, and supplies. Catalogue all print orders according to company standards, accurately handling and binning orders. Prioritize orders into appropriate service paths.
• Maintain merchandising and signage standards in and around print and cash areas, such as nesting tables, front cash queue, and counter displayers. Ensure accurate inventory control by following company protocols.
• Learn and maintain all standards required in the Print and Services areas, ensuring all checklists, audits and brand standardization requirements are met.
