Auxiliary Sales Associate

Positions Available!

At the Liquor Distribution Branch (LDB), our vision of 'Service. Relationships. Results.' focuses on providing valued service, building strong stakeholder relationships, and achieving greater results for the province.

The LDB is one of two government branches responsible for BC's cannabis and liquor industry. We manage the wholesale distribution of beverage alcohol and operate the retail BC Liquor Stores.

Auxiliary positions are on-call; hours are not guaranteed and depend on availability. Some employees may initially work fewer hours, but opportunities for more hours and advancement increase with experience and seniority.

Eligibility requirements:

  • Be at least 19 years old
  • Legally authorized to work in Canada
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Effective and professional communication with the public
  • Aptitude for cashier duties and calculations
  • Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting 20-25 kg boxes
  • Valid Serving It Right Certificate

BC Liquor Store Sales Associates may operate various mechanical and hand-operated equipment and handle large volumes of bottles as part of the recycling program.

Rate of pay as of April 14, 2024: $26.0731 per hour.
