The Salvation Army operates a thrift store in Canada, offering a 40-hour work week with benefits. You will support customers, process sales, handle donations, and help maintain a safe, organized shopping environment. Training and safety protocols are provided.

Candidates should have a Grade 12 diploma, WHMIS, and First Aid, with a willingness to pass background checks and work as part of a team committed to helping the community.

• Assist with heavy lifting and forklift operation after training as needed.
• Maintain safety and cleanliness per policies and guidelines.

The position is eligible for benefits and works 40 hours per week.RESPONSIBILITIES and Accountabilities:Provide positive and courteous service to customersProcess customer transactions at the sales counter including cash and debit/credit sales ensuring accuracy and in accordance with policies and proceduresAccurate opening and closing of store procedures when required, including POS terminals and tillAssist in keeping the general sales floor neat & clean and assure product displays are kept full and are tidyKeep stock rotated as per schedule or as directed by supervisorImplements store layout plans to attract customers including window displays and merchandise displays; Arrange and display sales itemsWork with volunteers as assignedEnsure workstations for volunteers are clear and ready before they arriveReceives, sorts, stores and prices donations as per directions and standardsProcess donated items by unloading, sorting, packing, storing, bailing and reloading the donationsLifts and relocates bags and boxes to determined areas as required.
