About The Role

We seek friendly, outgoing, customer service-oriented individuals to join as Part-Time Sales Associates at our Ace Liquor Lake Bonavista store in Calgary.

Primary Purpose of Job

Deliver excellent customer service, understand customer needs, promote a customer-focused environment, stock and merchandise the store to ensure readiness for customers.

Essential Business Functions, Responsibilities And Accountabilities

People Skills

  • Be customer service driven, friendly, and approachable
  • Communicate effectively verbally
  • Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor
Customer Offering
  • Provide exemplary service and greet customers
  • Assist customers with product selection and educate them about products
  • Complete all training to maintain product knowledge
  • Assist with store services such as car service when appropriate
Financial
  • Process transactions accurately on POS devices
  • Adhere to cash handling policies
  • Follow opening and closing procedures
  • Complete end-of-day reports and secure deposits
Day to Day Operations
  • Perform opening and closing procedures
  • Stock shelves and coolers
  • Participate in merchandising, promotional activities, and store maintenance
Regulatory Adherence
  • Follow all health, safety, and licensing regulations including ProServe/Serving It Right
  • Participate in inspections and audits
  • Maintain required certifications and comply with government guidelines
Qualifications

Work Experience
  • Minimum 1-year retail experience
Education
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • ProServe/Serving It Right Certification
  • First-Aid certification (asset)
  • Wine/beer/spirits training (preferred)
Other Skills And Capabilities
  • Self-motivated and customer service driven
  • Effective teamwork and communication skills
  • Strong sales background
  • Able to pass a background check and have reliable transportation
