Job description

Van Beek's is a well-known hardscape garden supply center that has been successfully servicing the Greater Toronto Area for almost 63 years. We pride ourselves in maintaining excellent customer service standards and providing quality products to various types of customers. We are looking for a fulltime Sales Associates to add to our team!

Primary Function:

Maintain a professional work environment by providing superior customer service, upkeep a clean work area, and provide general assistance to overall day-to-day operations of the facility.

Typical Duties:

Build and nurture client relationships through in-person, online and over-the-phone interactions.
Interact with customers, contractors, supervisors, and employees.
Perform typing, filing, and other general office duties.
Answer phone calls.
Schedule deliveries as required.
Take orders, create, and edit invoices.
Manage accounts receivable and process payments.
Provide excellent customer service with a focus on being genuine and courteous.
Guide contractors/customers on various products and materials.
Manage customer transaction time efficiently.
Provide accurate pricing and quotes.
Liaise with suppliers as needed.
Maintain office cleanliness.
Provide superior customer experience.
Maintain a high level of product knowledge to provide guidance to homeowners and contractors.
Effectively use a Point-of-Sale system to complete various types of sales.
Cross-train on various roles – as required.
Complete additional assigned tasks – as required.

Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications, and Experience:

Ability to work in a fast-paced, busy store.
Must be able to lift up to 30lbs.
Must have good written and oral communication skills.
Must be willing to work Saturdays and occasional holidays.
Customer service experience.
Knowledge of a POS Systems and/or Netsuite is an asset.
Knowledge of landscaping materials is an asset.
