What you’ll do – The opportunity

Position: Sales Analyst

Location: Guelph, Ontario

Level: Individual Contributor

Hiring Range: 67500 to 84500

Description:

Reporting to the Sales Operations Manager, the Sales Analyst will compile, analyze and report on Sales activity and industry data for the region to support the Sales management team in strategic decision making and to develop recommendations and solutions to grow Sleeman Breweries’ portfolio presence in the trade. Please note, this is a hybrid working model with 2 days in office.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and report on sales activities and trends and provide insights and recommendations to maximize Sales efforts and support strategic decision making, including developing and maintaining regional sales forecasts; providing analytical support in developing sales, volume, and distribution targets; monitoring market share progression and pricing; assessing promotions; and performing analysis of competitive environment. Work with appropriate parties to collect category and competitive data required to broaden analysis.
  • Responsible for the weekly pricing process, submitting and follow up to ensure outcomes are implemented. Completed the weekly pricing calendar.
  • Provide technical support for regional sales team for customer relationship management (CRM) and business intelligence (BI) systems. Work collaboratively to implement system changes, including making changes to accounts, updating links, and ensuring data has been integrated with related systems (e.g., Oracle, Apex).
  • Perform audits to ensure data integrity is maintained, follow-up with sales team to ensure customer data is refreshed and accurate.
  • Provide system orientation and training to regional Sales staff for new systems/functionality and make recommendations to improve the functionality of CRM and BI sales systems, as required.
  • Create and maintain analytical tools to track sales trade spending by customer, territory, district, province and region.
  • Recommend and implement corrective measures to address gaps between actual and target positions.
  • Provide analysis and prepare monthly reports in support of Sales processes (e.g., sales meetings).
  • Provide ad-hoc reporting and analytical support, and support for special projects, as required.
  • Participate in departmental projects.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in analysis and reporting, in a sales environment.
  • Post-secondary education in Business Administration, Finance or related field.
  • Strong analytical, planning and organizational skills; demonstrated ability to analyze high volumes of complex data and create insights.
  • Knowledge of mathematical/statistical concepts.
  • Computer skills with ability to use software such as MS Office including at least intermediate level skill in Excel. Experience using customer relationship management, business intelligence, or enterprise resource systems (e.g., Microsoft CRM, Endeca BI, Oracle) considered an asset.
  • Proven ability to build strong working relationships, internal and external to the organization.
  • Effective communication, both written and verbal; strong presentation skills.
  • Beverage alcohol industry experience is an asset.
  • Ability to demonstrate behaviors compatible with organizational values.
