About the Grand CNE 50/50 and Silent Auction Programs

Each year, the CNE Foundation strives to raise essential funds that are vital for sustaining and growing our charitable programs. With the CNE community’s compassionate support of our 50/50 and silent auction fundraisers during the Ex, CNE Foundation initiatives make a meaningful impact throughout the year and collectively help uplift the community we serve.

Tickets for our Grand CNE 50/50 raffle are sold online ahead of the CNE event, and online and in-person during the CNE. The raffle is licensed by the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO). Every raffle ticket purchased supports CNE Foundation community and youth programs.

Now entering its second year, our new CNE Foundation Silent Auction is held both in person and via the online fundraising platform during the CNE period, benefitting the CNE Foundation and our programs.

Four combined Grand CNE 50/50 and CNE Foundation Silent Auction outdoor activations will be situated throughout the CNE site, along with a fifth indoor location in the Enercare Centre for the display of auction items.

Position Overview:

Reporting to the Assistant Manager, 50/50 and Silent Auction Programs, the Sales Ambassador, 50/50 and Silent Auction Programs will interact with CNE visitors to encourage the sales of Grand CNE 50/50 raffle tickets and bidding on CNE Foundation Silent Auction items and to proactively communicate CNE Foundation messaging to help build awareness about our charitable programs.

Responsibilities:

·Proactively interact with CNE visitors

·Communicate CNE Foundation messaging

·Sell 50/50 tickets from a mobile device and troubleshoot any device issues

·Follow internal sales procedures and AGCO regulations

·Achieve agreed upon sales targets

·Assist customers with questions about 50/50 and silent auction programs

·Support silent auction bidding on mobile devices

·Assist with daily opening and closing duties related to assigned selling location and ensure location remains neat and presentable throughout shift

·Assist with display and replenishment of silent auction items as needed

·Other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Requirements:

·Previous 50/50, silent auction and/or ticket sales experience considered an asset

·Prior customer service or sales experience

·Ability to clearly and effectively communicate with customers

·Reliable, enthusiastic, friendly and self-motivated

·Must be comfortable approaching CNE guests

·Comfortable working independently or as part of a team

·Familiar with mobile devices, with the ability to troubleshoot

·Must be 18 years of age or older

·Available to work flexible hours, evenings and weekends for the duration of the 2025 CNE (August 15 to September 1)

·Availability to work five to six days per week during CNE required

·Available to attend a full-day mandatory training session in early Augsut at the CNE grounds

Special Conditions:

·Ability to work outdoors for extended periods and in all weather conditions (sun, heat, wind, cold, rain)

·Ability to stand or be stationary for extended periods of time

·Ability to lift boxes/items up to 25 lbs

·Required to dress in appropriate uniform
