Biogenie is looking for a sales agronomist representative for the Eastern Ontario region, a market with significant growth potential.

Reporting to the Assistant Director, the Sales Agronomist will provide first-rate service to existing customers and develop lasting relationships while prospecting for new customers.

Responsibilities

  • Offer sound agronomic advice to inform and guide agricultural customers in their choices relating to fertilizing residual materials (ashes, pellets, paper biosolids, liming, etc.), compost, and alternative fertilizers.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with established agricultural customers and seek new customers to introduce a wide range of products that will help improve soil fertility and health.
  • Provide agronomic support and advice on the use of organic materials and fertilizers.
  • Monitor agricultural activities to ensure compliance with provincial regulations and best management practices.
  • Coordinate deliveries and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Conduct field monitoring of crops that have received FRMs.
  • Contribute to customer profitability and the profitability of the company’s projects.
  • Participate in promotional activities such as trade shows and field days, and raise awareness in the surrounding communities.
  • Provide regular updates on the progress of projects.
  • Manage delivery deadlines of products and produce all required documents, demonstrating progress towards objectives.
  • Collaborate with the team to optimize operations and ensure efficient coordination of deliveries.
  • Carry out administrative paperwork on accounts and provide necessary data to director / manager, credit department, accounts payable, etc.
  • Perform all other related tasks.
  • Post-secondary diploma in agriculture or a minimum of three years in agronomy or crop input sales.
  • Bilingualism (fluent in English and French).
  • Strong communication and sales skills.
  • Motivated to set and achieve ambitious goals.
  • Knowledge of environmental standards, BMP’s, 4R’s NASM, and CFIA regulations.
  • Knowledge of fertilizing residual materials (an asset).
  • Certified crop advisor (an asset).
  • Willingness to travel and enjoy working outdoors.
  • Interest in teamwork.
  • Demonstrate an interest in and sensitivity to occupational health and safety.
