Job description

Position: Inside Sales

Are you looking for an opportunity to grow personally while contributing to the success of a growing organization? Are you both technical and personable? Are you self-driven, customer-oriented, and a team player? Preston Phipps is seeking a new team member for the role of Inside Sales at our Central Canada office in Mississauga, ON.

The ideal candidate will have experience supporting the sales of technical products, preferably in mechanical systems. They should have inside sales and/or technical support experience and be adept at supporting the outside sales team, assisting customers with proposals, and processing orders. If this sounds like a good fit, read on.

Responsibilities
  1. Serve as a hub for quote development and order processing, coordinating between the outside sales team, customers, suppliers, and internal divisions.
  2. Support customers in collaboration with outside sales to advance sales opportunities towards closure.
  3. Contribute to initiatives aimed at enhancing the customer experience and enabling the sales team to focus more on customer engagement.
  4. Review product selections based on performance parameters.
  5. Use price books, configurators, and suppliers to price equipment.
  6. Create project cost sheets for review prior to quoting.
  7. Prepare quotes and project proposals for customers.
  8. Process purchase orders, reviewing terms and conditions.
  9. Prepare and issue technical documents such as shop drawings as needed.
  10. Track document flow, order progression, and delivery schedules.
  11. Manage returns and support warranty and maintenance services.
  12. Utilize ERP system (P21) for order entry and tracking.
  13. Use CRM to track customer communications.
Qualifications
  • Technologist or technical degree.
  • Eligible to work in Canada.
  • At least 2 years of related experience, preferably in technical support or customer service.
  • Experience with mechanical equipment or HVAC systems.
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and ERP systems (P21).
  • Strong technical aptitude with a desire to learn about our products and applications.
  • Organized with good documentation and planning skills.
  • Self-motivated and customer-focused.
  • Team-oriented with strong relationship-building skills.
  • Creative problem-solving and conflict management abilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
