Salaried GP Vacancy | Welling | 4 – 8 Session| £10,000 plus MDU and Pension

Dream Medical are working side by side with a traditional surgery looking to appoint a GP to their team due to early retirement.

Clinical Responsibilities:

The post holder will be expected to undertake all the normal duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care. The following list is not exhaustive:

1. In accordance with the Practice consulting schedule, as agreed, the post-holder will make him/herself available to undertake a variety of duties including surgery consultations, telephone consultations and queries, visiting patients at home, checking and signing repeat prescriptions and dealing with queries, patient test results, reviewing patient related correspondence, DOCman patient medical reports and examinations (e.g. insurance companies), and other paperwork and correspondence in a timely fashion on behalf of the Practice.
2. Making professional autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, whether self-referred or referred, admitting or discharging patients to and from the caseload from other health care workers.
3. Recording clear and contemporaneous IT based consultation notes to agreed standards.
4. Checking hospital and other correspondences and completing any appropriate action.
5. Checking the results of blood tests, x-rays, etc. received electronically and completing any appropriate action.
6. Compiling and issuing computer-generated acute and repeat prescriptions (avoiding hand-written prescriptions whenever possible).
7. Collecting data for audit purposes.
8. Prescribing in accordance with locally agreed or national guidelines.
9. Making referrals to other health care providers (NHS and private) in line with national and local guidelines and pathways.
10. To deal with Pathology results.
11. Be part of the Extended hours rota, leading sessions as and when rotered to do so.
12. Work collaboratively with other clinicians in the practice e.g., GPs, NPs, Practice nurses, and health care assistants.

In general, the post-holder will be expected to undertake all the normal duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care.

The Salary on offer for this position is at the very top end of the scale in the UK at the moment to reflect the flexibility you as a GP will have to have.
