Job Duration : 06 / 30 / 2025 to 12 / 31 / 2025

Work Schedule : 2 weeks in / 2 weeks out, 11 hours per day

Work Location : McArthur River, SK — flights out of Saskatoon airport only

Job Description :

The Safety Specialist ensures that construction activities comply with Cameco's Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality (SHEQ) requirements. They monitor daily activities to identify hazardous conditions and ensure the implementation of safe work procedures.

Work closely with the Construction Management Team (CMT) and contractors.

Responsible for ensuring all safety, health, and environmental procedures and work instructions are followed.

Conduct workplace inspections with the CMT, focusing on behavioral observations.

Review field-level risk assessments (FLRAs) and daily contact cards for quality adherence.

May conduct and monitor SHEQ-related training for CMT personnel and contractors, and assess the qualifications of construction contractor personnel.

Participate in job hazard assessments, safety meetings, toolbox talks, constructability reviews, and project kickoff meetings upon request.

Conduct daily and weekly job site inspections as per procedures.

Identify and review various health and safety concerns specific to the work site.

Investigate injuries, accidents, and near misses as per site corrective action processes.

Ensure timely notification of significant events.

Monitor the quality of incident investigations and ensure effective and appropriate corrective actions are implemented promptly.
