A leading company in the maritime sector is looking for a Safety, Security, & Environment Advisor to support their operations in Vancouver. The role involves ensuring safety compliance, conducting inspections, and promoting safety culture within the organization. You are able to work in a self-directed manner, and are also able to work effectively with a team or work group. You have advanced verbal and written communication skills, strong organization skills and a proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment. You will need the determination to succeed, and the direction to know what is right in an environment with many strong opinions and beliefs.
These capabilities have typically been developed through a relevant post-secondary diploma or degree in a discipline related to health & safety, 3-5 years of experience in a safety and security role, or a combination of education, training and experience in a related discipline.
This role is a multi-faceted; there will be plenty of variety and opportunities to work with many, if not all departments, in the company at some point. The focus is heavily-weighted toward health & safety, with security and environment taking up a minority of your focus.
The successful candidate will be required to obtain a Marine Transportation Security Clearance (TSC), Marine Facility Security Officer Designation and Access Control Officer Designation.
