Procor Limited manages Canada’s largest private tank car lease fleet and operates an extensive repair network across the country. Our fleet includes over 30,500 specialized tank and freight cars, serving markets such as petroleum, petrochemicals, plastics, chemicals, fertilizers, and food.

This position is responsible for establishing and maintaining Health & Safety standards, facilitating training, and implementing programs to ensure safe and efficient railcar repairs at the Edmonton facility. The role involves overseeing safety policy implementation, conducting safety training, and ensuring compliance with legislative requirements. It reports directly to the Edmonton Plant Manager and has a dotted line to the Director, HSE.

Key objectives include safety policy enforcement, training, safety audits, incident reporting, and promoting a safety-oriented culture. Responsibilities include :

  • Initiating, promoting, and maintaining health and safety initiatives.
  • Conducting safety orientations for new employees.
  • Ensuring monthly safety audits and follow-up on findings.
  • Providing safety and incident statistics reports.
  • Monitoring and recommending corrective actions.
  • Maintaining safety bulletin boards and ensuring legislative compliance.
  • Conducting hazard analyses and ensuring current safe work procedures.
  • Investigating accidents and managing occupational injuries and illnesses.
  • Liaising with WCB and insurance providers regarding claims and appeals.
  • Managing return-to-work programs and disability cases.
  • Promoting positive employee relations through communication and coaching.
  • Supporting company initiatives and policies enthusiastically.

Preferred candidates will have solid experience with safety and environmental legislation, training, and hold a CRSP designation with a minimum of three years of experience.

This challenging position requires a candidate with industry knowledge, leadership confidence, management skills, and organizational abilities.
