Job summary

Empire Roofing Corporation is seeking a detail-oriented Safety Coordinator in Windsor, Ontario to support workplace health and safety programs. You will help maintain compliance, coordinate training, and assist with incident management and continuous improvement initiatives.

Collaborating with the Safety Director and field teams, you will promote a safe and compliant workplace through strong organizational skills and proactive communication.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of safety coordination, administration, or related experience.
• Knowledge of Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) requirements.
• JHSC Certification (Part I & II) is an asset.
• Experience with WSIB claims administration, incident reporting, and return-to-work processes is preferred.
• Experience maintaining safety records and compliance documentation.

Responsibilities

• Maintain safety training records, certifications, and compliance documentation.
• Coordinate employee safety training, renewals, and onboarding requirements.
• Maintain safety databases and tracking systems.
• Prepare safety reports, statistics, and documentation.
• Coordinate safety meetings, take minutes, and follow up on activities.

We are seekinga detail-orientedand proactiveSafety Coordinator to support our workplace health and safety programs in Windsor, Ontario. This position plays a key role in maintaining safety compliance, coordinating training activities, supporting incident management, and assisting with continuous improvement initiatives.

The Safety Coordinatorwill work closelywith the SafetyDirector, third-partysafety consultant, branchmanagement team, supervisors, and field employeesto promote asafe and compliantworkplace.

Key Responsibilities

Safety Program Administration

• Maintain safety trainingrecords, certifications, and compliance documentation.
• Coordinate employee safetytraining,renewals, and onboardingrequirements.
• Maintain safety databasesand tracking systems.
• Prepare safety reports, statistics, and documentation.
• Coordinate safety meetings, take minutes, and follow up on activities.
• Support communication ofsafety policies andprocedures.

Incident & Claims Support

• Assist with workplaceincident reporting andinvestigations.
• Maintain incident trackinglogs and relateddocumentation.
• Support WSIB claimadministration and documentation.
• Assist with modifiedwork programs andreturn-to-workdocumentation.
• Track corrective actionsand follow-uprequirements.

Compliance & AuditSupport

• Assist with internaland external safetyaudits.
• Support compliance withOntario Occupational Healthand Safety Act(OHSA) requirements.
• Monitor safety documentationrequirements.
• Track inspections, correctiveactions, and safetyimprovement initiatives.
• Support safety projectsand continuous improvementactivities.

Employee & Management Support

• Provide administrative safetysupport to supervisorsand field employees.
• Assist with safetycommunications and awarenessinitiatives.
• Work collaboratively withinternal teams andexternal safety partners.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 yearsof safety coordination, administration, or relatedexperience.

• Joint Health & SafetyCommittee (JHSC) Certification(Part I & II) is considered anasset.

• Construction, manufacturing, orfield safety experienceis an asset.
• Strong Microsoft Officeskills.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
