You are an administrative professional with a strong background in Health & Safety. As our Health & Safety Coordinator at Canfor Pulp, you will lean heavily on those skills as you play a vital role in supporting OH&S teams by assisting with the administration and execution of safety programs and initiatives across the organization.

Using your exceptional planning and organizational skills, you will be responsible for managing and disseminating Canfor’s company-wide communications related to safety, ensuring employees are kept informed on safety metrics, policies, and procedures. You will support the coordination of safety training, audits, and incident investigations, working closely with various departments to promote a culture of safety within the workplace. Your organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to collaborate effectively will help us, and YOU, ensure a safe and compliant work environment.

A day in the life of our Health & Safety Coordinator will include:

  1. Creating and supporting effective communication strategies to engage with the internal workforce, including the delivery of the weekly Safety Newsletter.
  2. Administering Compliance Training, including scheduling sessions, documenting training records, and other related tasks.
  3. Overseeing and managing the Emergency Response Crew Program, ensuring continuous improvements.
  4. Supporting the implementation of health and safety programs across CPL, including training, audits, inspections, and compliance activities.
  5. Monitoring industry trends and evolving regulatory requirements while maintaining records for internal reporting and compliance purposes.
  6. Acting as additional support to the Safety Advisor group in the event of an emergency response, such as CSE Rescue, First Aid, Fire, Hazmat, etc.

You will have:

  • AFA Advanced Level Certification or Emergency Medical Responder License

The salary range for this position is: $80,000.00-$100,000.00
