Job Description

We are currently seeking a Safety and Training Coordinator to join our team. This role involves conducting training needs analyses to identify competency frameworks with Environment Safety & Health (ESH) skills and knowledge for all levels within the Ontario Line Project Delivery Team (PDT). The coordinator will also organize in-house and external ESH training for all PDT levels and will have the opportunity to work on the Ontario Line (OL) Subway project with Metrolinx. This is a full-time, permanent position committed to fostering diversity and inclusion.

Duties & Responsibilities
  1. Develop criteria to verify competencies for high-risk work for PDT and contractors.
  2. Support Delivery Teams and Safety Teams in reviewing contractor training and competency plans, offering improvement recommendations.
  3. Perform field verification activities of contractor training and competency programs in collaboration with Delivery and Safety Teams.
  4. Analyze project-wide trends from reports and dashboards to identify areas for additional training and communication enhancements.
  5. Review incident investigations, develop safety alerts, and share lessons learned across the Ontario Line Project Delivery Team and contractors.
  6. Develop and distribute regular communication materials (daily, weekly, monthly) to the Integrated Project Team (IPT).
Qualifications
  1. Experience in railway safety, infrastructure, and heavy civil projects is preferred.
  2. Strong knowledge of Ontario OHSA Act and Regulations, with construction-specific expertise.
  3. Proven experience in developing training and education materials and delivering effective training programs.
  4. Ability to build collaborative and effective working relationships.
  5. Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  6. NCSO or similar designation is preferred.
