The Safety Admin Support will support the development, implementation and maintenance of BARs Health & Safety Programs. This position is to ensure that BAR complies and adheres to Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) guidelines to reduce work related injuries. his position handles all paperwork and correspondence for operation of the companys safety program and the companys vehicle maintenance.

About the Position

  • Plan and implement OHS policies and programs
  • Maintain and update our COR-certified safety program across AB, SK, and BC.
  • Advise and lead employees on various safety related topics
  • Conduct safety orientations and schedule required staff training
  • Oversee the annual audit of the safety program.
  • Update safety platforms (ISNetworld, ComplyWorks)
  • Coordinate inspections and maintenance for fleet, buildings, and safety equipment
  • Schedule and lead group safety meetings
  • Research safety best practices and ensure companys safety policies / procedures are compliant to industry, provincial and federal regulations.
  • Complete various monthly and annual reporting for management.
  • Track safety tickets, PPE costs, fuel, and vehicle repairs
  • Support JWHSC and workplace safety compliance
  • Provide backup for reception and assist with building maintenance
  • Adheres to and promotes BARs Health & Safety Program and Quality System.

About the Candidate

Diploma in Office Administration and / or Health & Safety Administrator designation preferred

You will also have :

  • Strong organization, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently
  • Knowledge of industry safety standards and OHS codes
  • Valid drivers license and clean abstract
