Job summary

Pacific Coastal Airlines in Vancouver, BC, seeks experienced Saab 340 Direct Entry Captains to join our seasoned flight crew. Lead safe, on-time regional operations and mentor First Officers while upholding SOPs and SMS principles.

The role requires 2,000 total hours, 1,000 PIC, 1,000 hours multi-engine/IFR, and a TCCA ATPL with ICAO ELP Level 4. Training is provided; visa sponsorship is not offered; candidates must be eligible to work in Canada and able to travel to the United States.

Qualifications

  • 2,000 hours total time.
  • 1,000 hours PIC time.
  • 1,000 hours relevant multi-engine, IFR and/or turbine experience (600/702/703/704/705 operations).
  • TCCA ATPL licence required; type rating not required (training provided).
  • Must be eligible to work in Canada; visa sponsorship not provided.

  • Command the Saab 340 across a regional network delivering safe, on-time operations while guiding crew with professionalism.
  • Lead safe, compliant operations under IFR and VFR across varied terrain and weather.
  • Mentor and develop First Officers, fostering high-performance, learning-focused cockpit.
  • Coordinate with Dispatch, Maintenance, and Stations to ensure operational excellence.
  • Deliver welcoming, service-forward experiences for passengers.

  • Exercise sound judgment in all phases of flight; champion SOPs, checklists, and SMS principles.

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a RAIC.
  • Ability to travel to/from the United States without restrictions.
  • As visa sponsorship is not provided, candidates should already be eligible to work in Canada.

Type rating not required—training provided. You'll complete structured ground school, simulator training, and line indoctrination on the Saab 340, ensuring you're set up for success from day one.
