School District 71 - Program Worker - Youth and Family - Elementary

School District 71 is an inclusive learning community that embraces diversity, fosters relationships, and empowers all learners to positively impact the world. Our mission is to collaborate with educational partners to inspire engaged, compassionate, resilient lifelong learners and cultivate a collaborative community.

Position: Program Worker - Youth and Family - Elementary

Details: 30 hours per week, Monday through Friday. Current pay rate: $34.07/hour.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Arts Degree in Child and Youth Care, Social Work, or related discipline, with relevant coursework in interpersonal communication, counselling theory, CPI preferred.
  • At least two years of current experience working with at-risk children and youth.
  • Skills in collaboration, consultation, and facilitating partnerships among schools and community agencies.
  • Knowledge of issues such as behaviour disorders, substance abuse, family dynamics, trauma-informed practices, and crisis intervention.
  • Ability to work independently and in teams, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Valid Class 5 B.C. driver’s license, personal vehicle, and ability to meet physical requirements.
Responsibilities:
  • Provide individual, small group, and family support for students, under supervision of the Inclusive Education administration or school Principal.
  • Recognize students at risk or in crisis, and offer preventive and intervention services.
  • Collaborate with school staff and community agencies to support student success and inclusion.
  • Maintain accurate case documentation, respecting confidentiality and following protocols.
  • Support student inclusion and participate in crisis interventions as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, including student supervision.

Locations are determined by Inclusive Education and may change.
