The Lethbridge School Division is looking for a compassionate Student Support Worker to join their team. This role focuses on supporting students with emotional and behavioral concerns, ensuring they can actively engage in the school environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in facilitating access to essential services and developing strong relationships with students and community resources. Hours are set at 35.00 per week, and candidates must have relevant educational backgrounds as well as previous experience with youth.

Lethbridge School Division is looking for empathetic, sensitive and patient individuals to work as part of a dynamic team. The Student Support Worker will provide support and services to students experiencing emotional, behavioral or other concerns that impact the student's ability to engage in the school environment. Employees in this class often act in an advisory role to facilitate students' access to services or provide direct assistance in response to students' needs or teachers' requests. What will you work?
35.00 hours/week Monday to Friday
Student Support Worker staff have a working calendar that provides time off during some non-instructional days.
What will you do?
Responsibilities include identifying students potentially at risk, accessing appropriate internal and external resources, organizing and leading support groups, and facilitating strategies for student progress.
Employees in this class have considerable internal contacts both with the school and School Division. Contacts vary and involve providing information through various means, resolving conflicts and coordinating information services. Employees also participate on internal committees to share information, receive direction and report on progress. External contacts extend to community service agencies, parents and other involved supports.
The successful candidate will provide support in the areas of social skills, conflict resolution and mediation, self-esteem, assertiveness, communications, study skills, goal setting, problem solving and anger and stress management. The student support team member will assist with orientation and transition processes. The candidate will act as a mediator when students are in conflict, provides conflict resolution support and guide students through the process.

The hourly rate ranges from $27.18 - $29.27 depending on experience.
