Under the responsibility of the Maintenance Manager, the incumbent of this position must ensure the proper functioning of the electronic and electrical control systems present on the production equipment or auxiliary systems. It proposes improvement actions to keep all of our systems efficient, up-to-date and safe. He participates in the analysis of opportunities for continuous improvement.
Given the food clientele served by Hood Packaging and the risk associated with our manufacturing activities, the incumbent of this position must commit to respecting all the rules put in place in order to control all identified risks (chemical, physical and biological). As such, the incumbent helps ensure that the HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point) system, food safety, GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), work instructions and SQF (Safe Quality Food) certification are compliant.

Functional Responsibilities

- Comply with the application of CNESST programs, CT-PAT and the organization's health and safety policies;
- Ensure that safe work procedures are used and contribute to the company's safety vision for all its equipment;
- Maintain electrical/electronic equipment while ensuring compliance with the preventive maintenance program;
- Provide technical support to users while training them on the best use of the equipment in place;
- Keep a close follow-up on certain critical parts in inventory;
- Order electrical equipment for repairs/modifications of production equipment;
- Maintain all technical documentation related to its activities (technical plan, work procedure, work order, preventive maintenance, etc.);
- See to it that actions are taken to improve or update the equipment in place. Make recommendations to their immediate supervisor by establishing a realistic budget;
- May act as a technical advisor during projects for the implementation and/or improvement of equipment;
- Make sure to maintain a clean and safe work environment;
- Provide competency-based training as needed.

- QUALIFICATIONS
Education
- D.E.C. in Industrial Electronics Technology or in D.E.C. in Electronics;
Experiences
- 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in industrial maintenance;
- Hold a license in electrical that is not under construction or in the process of being obtained;
- Have programming skills and PLCs;
- Have knowledge of AC and DC variable frequency motors, instrumentation and control, and pneumatic and mechanical equipment;
- Knowledge of maintenance and office automation software (MS Office), an asset.
