Location: Magog, Quebec

Workload & schedule: 7.75 hours per week

Friday, 6:00 am to 2:15 pm

Status: Replacement

Effective Date: September 5, 2025

Salary: $25.26 per hour

Supervisor: School Principal

Nature of the work

The principal and customary work of an employee in this class of employment involves responsibility for maintenance work, preventive and physical upkeep of an educational institution or building, covering less than 9,275 m2. The role includes organizing, carrying out, coordinating, and overseeing maintenance tasks, as well as performing the characteristic functions of a Maintenance Workman, Class II.

Description of tasks
  • Ensure the cleanliness of the premises.
  • Organize and carry out maintenance work, performing Maintenance Workman Class II duties.
  • Maintain the condition of maintenance apparatus and equipment.
  • Inspect and verify lighting, heating, and ventilation systems.
  • Ensure the operation of heating equipment and carry out or oversee preventive upkeep.
  • Perform minor or temporary repairs and report breakdowns.
  • Follow up on work performed by other workers.
  • Repair doors, windows, furniture, and assemble or install materials as needed.
  • Ensure security against fire and theft, monitor visitors, students, and staff if necessary.
  • Prepare rooms and halls as needed.
  • Order, purchase, and keep inventory of maintenance materials, ensuring safety standards.
  • Make suggestions regarding products, materials, and work methods.
  • Coordinate, supervise, and oversee other non-specialized employees' work.
  • Perform other related duties as required.
Desired profile

Experience: At least three years of relevant experience.

Practical skills: General knowledge of heating, ventilation, lighting, and alarm systems; basic knowledge of main building trades.
