Eastern Passage Village Veterinary Hospital is seeking a full- or part-time RVT to join a collaborative team in a renovated, bright facility located 15 minutes from Dartmouth, NS. Qualifications

• Completion of a Veterinary Technician or Animal Health Technician program with eligibility for registration in the applicable province.
• Strong knowledge of patient care, anesthesia, pharmacology and clinical procedures.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to safely restrain animals and handle medical equipment.
• Willingness to mentor new graduates and support team training.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians with examinations, diagnostics, treatments, surgeries and dental procedures.
• Place and maintain IV catheters and administer medications, fluids and treatments.
• Collect and process blood, urine and other lab samples.
• Educate clients on medications, treatments and preventive care.
• Maintain accurate medical records and inventory.
• Support the team to deliver exceptional patient and client experience.
• Mentor new graduates and assistants.
• Assist with 8+ scheduled and walk-in appointments per day.
