Job summary

Toronto Veterinary Emergency Hospital (TVEH) is expanding our Surgery and Anesthesia Registered Veterinary Technician team in Scarborough, Ontario. This is an opportunity to work with a collaborative team to provide high-quality small-animal patient care.

You will assist surgeons with exams and procedures, place IV catheters, monitor anesthesia, and educate clients on care. We value mentorship for new graduates and strong teamwork in a 24/7 hospital setting.

Qualifications

• RVT with eligibility to register in the applicable province.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in patient care and records.
• Knowledge of anesthesia, pharmacology, and clinical procedures.
• Strong technical skills for venipuncture, catheter placement, anesthesia monitoring, and lab work.

Responsibilities

• Assist surgeons with examinations, diagnostics, surgeries, and anesthesia procedures.
• Place IV catheters, administer medications, and collect lab samples.
• Educate clients on medications, nutrition, preventive care, and at-home care.
• Maintain accurate patient files, medical logs, and inventory.
• Coordinate with team to deliver exceptional patient and client experience.
• Train and mentor new graduates and Veterinary Assistants.
