Job Description

Overview

We are seeking a skilled and motivated RV Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical/electrical background and have experience working with various power and hand tools. As an RV Technician, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining recreational vehicles to ensure they are safe and functional for our customers. This role requires attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and a passion for the RV lifestyle.

Responsibilities

  • Perform work as outlined in the repair order.
  • Verify warranty, if applicable, on all repair orders.
  • Perform all work with efficiency and accuracy and in accordance with industry standards.
  • Examine vehicles in need of repair to successfully diagnose the nature and extent of any damage.
  • Repair and install RV satellite systems, electrical systems, backups systems, awnings and interior cabinetry and counter tops.
  • Repair and adjust slide-outs.
  • Repair generator systems, roof mounted air conditioning units, propane systems, water systems and plumbing.
  • Examine and test parts or system operations.
  • Communicate with the parts department to secure necessary parts.
  • Advise shop foreman and provide recommendation if repair order needs to be adjusted.
  • Repair documented in technician comments during each active time punch.
  • Road test vehicles as needed for quality assessment.
  • Maintain working knowledge of factory technical bulletins.
  • Ensure customer vehicle cleanliness.
  • Maintain neat and orderly work area.
  • Accountable for all company-owned tools.
  • Uphold federal, provincial, and local regulations governing the disposal of hazardous waste.
  • Perform job duties and functions with flexibility in the event circumstances shift, i.e., emergencies, changes in personnel, workload, rush jobs or technology developments.
  • Other duties as assigned by the manager.

Requirements

Work Environment & Physical Demands:

  • Work indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Frequently sit, stand, balance, bend, or stoop for extended periods.
  • Manual dexterity and the ability to reach with hands and arms, including lifting up to 80 lbs.
  • Operate tools and equipment ranging from simple hand tools to heavy machinery.
  • Normal range of hearing and vision.

Education & Experience:

  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • 2–3 years of experience in RV repair or a related technical field.
  • Technical background in electrical, plumbing, or carpentry.
  • Strong multitasking skills and ability to complete tasks efficiently.
  • Dependable with a solid work ethic and attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to pass a general abilities assessment, background check, physical exam, and drug screening.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in the RV industry.
  • RVDA or RVIA certification.
