Qualifications
Current registration with BCCNM.
One year of recent experience providing emergency nursing care in an acute/rural hospital.
Current CPR certificate.
Current cardiac monitoring, emergency assessment, and medical assessment skills.
Ability to initiate intravenous therapy, maintain I.V. lines, and use related equipment.
Responsibilities
Assesses patients and collects data using observation and physical assessment skills.
Determines nursing diagnoses and plans, performs, and evaluates nursing interventions.
Collaborates with patients and interprofessional teams to develop care plans.
Participates in admission, discharge, and transfer planning.
Coordinates nursing care, sets priorities, delegates tasks.
Teaches patients and families about illness prevention.
