T3 Transit in Prince Edward Island seeks Rural Island Transit Drivers to operate public buses on routes from Montague/Georgetown to Charlottetown. You will ensure safe, on-time service and assist passengers.

Job description

T3 Transit is currently recruiting Rural Island Transit Drivers. The position will be in Montague/Georgetown to Charlottetown, PE. T3 Transit operates Charlottetown's Municipal Transit and PEI's Transit PEI network. We're hiring friendly & professional team players.

Overview

Rural Island transit Drivers are responsible for operating public buses safely and efficiently to transport passengers along assigned routes within the community. They ensure reliable service, follow schedules, and provide excellent customer service while maintaining compliance with traffic laws and company regulations.

Primary Responsibility Includes:
  • Safely operate transit buses on scheduled routes in urban and suburban areas.
  • Pick up and drop off passengers at designated stops in accordance with timetables.
  • Provide courteous and professional customer service, including assistance to seniors, people with disabilities, and other passengers needing support.
  • Collect fares or monitor electronic fare systems.
  • Perform daily vehicle inspections and report any mechanical issues or safety concerns.
  • Maintain a clean and safe bus interior.
  • Adhere to all traffic regulations, municipal bylaws, and company policies.
  • Respond appropriately to emergencies and unexpected situations (e.g., accidents, medical emergencies, route changes).
  • Complete required reports such as incident forms, ridership logs, or shift summaries, and any other paperwork.
  • Willingness to work varied shifts, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Requirements:
  • Bus license - Class 2A (willingness to obtain these credentials).
  • Clean drivers' abstract.
