Job Description

Imagine making the open road your office. As an on-call relief Rural and Suburban Mail Carrier with Canada Post, you will deliver mail to various communities. If you enjoy working independently and with the public, and operating a vehicle in all weather conditions, this role offers a rewarding career and potential for permanent positions.

Responsibilities
  • Provide courteous customer service face-to-face
  • Sort, collect, and deliver mail safely and efficiently
  • Learn local infrastructure, roads, and delivery points
  • Secure mail during delivery
  • Process CPC products/services like Change of Address, Damaged Mail, etc.
  • Wear Canada Post ID visibly during deliveries
  • Lift items up to 50 lbs / 22.7 kg
  • Operate a vehicle in all weather conditions
Qualifications and Vehicle Requirements
  • Good and safe driving record
  • Valid permanent provincial driver’s license
  • Vehicle with minimum cargo capacity of 50 cu ft (1415 liters)
  • Automatic transmission, power windows, metal roof-top, accessory power outlet
  • Middle passenger window sill between 38” and 45” from ground; max interior width 56”
  • Preferred: Fifth door/hatchback for oversized items
  • Maintain automobile liability insurance
