Job description

We are currently seeking a casual Rural Adult Mental Health and Substance Use Worker to join the MHSU Adult Community Support Services (ACSS) team at the Kiro Wellness Centre in Trail, B.C.

What will you work on?

The Worker will be part of a multidisciplinary team providing assessment and treatment services to adults with serious mental disorders and/or substance use issues. The program serves adults and the elderly experiencing mental health disorders or substance use impacting personal, family, financial, occupational, and social aspects of life. This includes individuals with acute psychosis, bizarre behavior, depression, anxiety, grief, suicidal ideation, substance dependence, and concurrent disorders.

Primary duties include intake assessment, crisis intervention, referral, case management, psychogeriatric support, community planning, psycho-education with clients and families, and liaising with other professionals. Responsibilities also involve urgent crisis response, community education, and coordinating services for adults and seniors with mental health and/or substance use challenges.

Scheduling Information

Shift types are days, from 08:00 to 16:30 hours. This is a casual position, meaning hours are not guaranteed and can vary from 0 to 37.5 hours per week. Many careers with us start as casual roles and may lead to permanent or temporary opportunities.
