- From October 20, 2025, the candidate is required to work onsite 4 days a week and 1 day from home

- From January 5, 2026, the candidate is required to work onsite 5 days a week fully

Senior Business Analyst with expertise in data analysis, systems integration, business process analysis, and stakeholder management. The ideal candidate will have experience in Ontario Public Sector (OPS) projects, a deep understanding of data and IT systems, and strong analytical capabilities to support digital transformation initiatives.

This role is critical in bridging the gap between business needs and technology solutions by working closely with stakeholders, IT teams, and project managers. The successful candidate will excel in data analysis, systems optimization, business process re-engineering, and data-driven decision-making to drive operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

1. Data & Systems Analysis

  • Lead the elicitation, analysis, and documentation of data and system requirements.
  • Develop core data analysis artifacts, including:
  • Data Requirements Documents (DRD)
  • System Requirements Documents (SRD)
  • Data Models (ERD, UML, Data Flow Diagrams, etc.)
  • Use Cases & User Stories with well-defined acceptance criteria.
  • Analyze business challenges and recommend strategic technology solutions.
  • Data analysis and mapping
  • Extract data from databases via querying languages such as SQL and LINQ

2. Business & Requirements Analysis

  • Lead the elicitation, analysis, and documentation of business and functional requirements.
  • Develop core business analysis artifacts, including:
  • Business Requirements Documents (BRD)
  • Functional Requirements Documents (FRD)
  • Process Models (BPMN, UML, Data Flow Diagrams, Swimlane Diagrams, etc.)
  • Use Cases & User Stories with well-defined acceptance criteria.
  • Analyze business challenges and recommend strategic technology solutions.

3. Stakeholder Engagement & Communication

  • Act as the bridge between business units, IT teams, and external vendors.
  • Facilitate requirements workshops, Joint Application Development (JAD) sessions, and stakeholder interviews.
  • Collaborate with Product Owners, Project Managers, Developers, and QA teams to ensure clarity in requirements.
  • Present findings, reports, and recommendations to executive leadership and senior stakeholders.

4. Systems Optimization & Digital Transformation

  • Conduct systems analysis and optimization to improve business efficiency.
  • Identify opportunities for automation and digital transformation.
  • Lead systems re-engineering initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Support implementation of data-driven decision-making strategies using analytics.

5. Agile & Project Support

  • Work within Agile (Scrum/Kanban) and Waterfall project environments, applying appropriate data analysis and business analysis techniques.
  • Support Product Owners in backlog refinement, prioritization, and roadmap planning.
  • Collaborate with IT teams to ensure that data and business requirements are properly translated into technical specifications.

6. Business Readiness & Change Management (Support Role Only)

  • Ensure that business stakeholders are prepared for new processes, systems, or automation initiatives.
  • Work closely with Product Owners and Project Managers to align business expectations and minimize resistance to change.
  • Provide documentation and knowledge transfer to support smooth transitions and long-term sustainability.

  • High-quality data and business analysis documentation (DRD, SRD, BRD, FRD, data models, process flows, use cases, user stories).
  • Clear stakeholder alignment, ensuring project goals are well understood across teams.
  • Systems and process improvements and business recommendations that drive measurable efficiency gains.
  • Effective collaboration with development teams, ensuring technical solutions align with business goals.
  • Successful adoption of digital transformation initiatives, improving productivity and service delivery.
