Job summary

Office of the Public Guardian and Trustee (OPGT) seeks a Sr. Software Developer to support and enhance the Trust Account Management system (PGTAMS). The role focuses on IMS DB/DC Mainframe Express in a PC environment using Enterprise COBOL for z/OS, BTS, JCL, and CLIST.

The candidate will work on maintaining financial applications and integrating multi‑platform systems, under security clearance requirements and with client teams in a hybrid on‑site setting in Downtown Toronto.

Qualifications

• 5+ years developing and supporting applications in IMS DB/DC Mainframe Express (PC) using Enterprise COBOL for ZOS, BTS, JCL and CLIST.
• Knowledge and experience with TSO, JCL, BTS and CLIST.
• Familiarity with IMS Connect, Host Integration Services (HIS), TCP/IP and Easytrieve.

Responsibilities

• Support and enhancements to the Trust Account Management system (PGTAMS) for the Office of the Public Guardian and Trustee.
• Work with OPGT teams to maintain legacy COBOL applications and financial modules like A/R, A/P, GL and Investments.
• Collaborate across multi‑platform environments to integrate business applications.

Contract 6+ months, 2 possible extensions

Security Level: CRJMC + Credit Check (must get clearance before start date)

• The Office of the Public Guardian and Trustee (OPGT) requires a Programmer/Developer L3 with 5-9 years' of application development and support experience in IMS DB/DC Mainframe Express (PC environment) using Enterprise COBOL for ZOS, BTS, JCL and CLIST to work with the OPGT on their Trust Account Management system known as PGTAMS.
• The primary objective of this project is to assist in the support and enhancements to the functionality of the OPGTs Trust Account Management system.

Must-Haves:

• A minimum of 5 years of knowledge, experience with, and proven skills (within the last 9 years) developing and supporting applications in IMS DB/DC Mainframe Express (PC environment) using Enterprise COBOL for ZOS, BTS, JCL and CLIST
• Knowledge and experience with TSO (Time Sharing Option), JCL, BTS and CLIST.
• Familiarity with IMS Connect, Host Integration Services (HIS), TCP/IP and Easytrieve
• Knowledge and proven experience with:
  • Trust Accounting Systems using double entry accounting practices
  • Other Financial Applications (Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, General Ledger and Investment Management)
  • Case Management Applications
  • Integration of business applications on multi-platforms
