Job description

Hybrid Work Environment: The successful candidate is expected to work onsite at 222 Jarvis St 3 days per week, and may work remotely up to 2 days per week.

Responsibilities:

  1. Design, implement, and expand data pipelines through extraction, transformation, and loading activities.
  2. Translate technical system specifications into tested applications, including developing detailed programming specifications, coding, compiling data-driven programs, maintaining, and conducting unit tests.
  3. Resolve and troubleshoot technical issues during software use and operation, including providing technical assistance in implementation, conversion, and migrations.

Additional Responsibilities:

Work with project teams to develop integrations and interfaces between Oracle recruitment system and PeopleSoft to meet business needs. Analyze business requirements related to Human Resources programs and service delivery. Provide consulting on the use of information technology such as PeopleSoft to meet business objectives. Recommend system development solutions and configurations. Offer technical expertise in systems analysis and design.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience with programming Internet-ready applications.
  • Knowledge of rapid application development (RAD) methodologies.
  • Understanding of Information Management principles, policies, and practices.
  • Experience with middleware and gateways.
  • Ability to review, analyze, modify product installation scripts, including encoding, testing, and debugging.
  • Support post-implementation technical issues.
  • Conduct design walkthroughs with project teams.
  • Knowledge of Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) and related standards.
  • Ability to produce user and system documentation.

Skills and Experience Requirements:

Work with project teams to develop integrations between Oracle recruitment system and PeopleSoft. Analyze business needs for HR programs. Provide IT consulting expertise. Recommend solutions and configurations. Offer technical advice in systems analysis and design.

Must Haves:

  • Knowledge of PeopleSoft HCM modules including Workforce Administration, Position Management, Benefits, and Payroll.
  • Experience with PeopleSoft development tools such as App Engine, SQRs, and PS tools. Experience with Fluid is a plus. Ability to develop new systems and modify existing ones. Experience with Linux scripting is an asset.
  • Knowledge of Oracle database management systems and application database administration.
  • Experience with unit testing, system integration, and user acceptance testing from a technical perspective. Ability to prepare technical specifications and walkthrough test results.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, organizational, and communication skills. A team player capable of working effectively with colleagues and clients.
