Job summary

Source Code is seeking a Sr. Technology Architect to lead security-focused design and implementation across F5 load balancers, proxies, and firewalls in a hybrid onsite/remote Canadian environment.

Qualifications

• 10+ years expert-level proficiency with F5 LTM, APM, ASM, GTM.
• 10+ years of computing and information security experience, incl. incident remediation.
• 10+ years with large enterprise clustered high-availability firewalls, load balancers & proxies (Checkpoint, ProxySG, Zscalar ZIA).
• 10+ years of advanced networking & information security knowledge.
• Degree in CS/Engineering/Technical Diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Provide security expertise for LCM – F5 load balancer project and daily operations.
• Participate in workshop discussions addressing Internet access, security, and client configuration for online service consumption.
• Ensure architecture patterns conform to City environment and meet availability requirements.
• Design, implement and document Internet services (load balancers, proxies, firewalls) for on-premises access and migration.
• Deliver other management-directed outputs.

3 days onsite/ 2 days remote (subject to HM's discretion) -703 Don Mills Road

Must Haves:

• 10+ years of Expert-level technical proficiency with F5 LTM, APM, ASM, GTM
• 10+ years of progressive experience in computing and information security, including experience with security technology and remediation of Security Incidents.
• 10+ years of Proficient technical experience working with large enterprise clustered high-availability firewalls, load balancers and proxies, including Checkpoint, Broadcom ProxySG, Zscalar ZIA.
• 10+ years of advanced understanding of networking technologies and information security best practices.
• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Technical Diploma, or equivalent, or a combination of education and/or experience.

The Senior Technical Architect is required to provide security

expertise for the LCM (Life Cycle Management) – F5 load balancer project and daily operations.

- Participate in workshop discussions and drive activities that address Internet access, operational security, and client configuration for online service consumption.

- Ensure architecture and designs patterns conform to and/or are implementable with the City's environment and meet availability requirements.

- Design, implement and document Internet services (Load balancers, proxies, firewalls, ancillary services) to ensure capacity and availability for on-premises access to and from the load balancer service for both migration and client access.

Description/Qualifications:

1. Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Technical Diploma, or equivalent

combination of education and/or experience.

2. 10+ years of progressive experience in computing and information security, including experience with security technology and remediation of Security Incidents.

3. Expert level technical proficiency with F5 LTM, APM, ASM, GTM

4. Proficient technical experience working with large enterprise clustered high-availability firewalls, load balancers and proxies, including Checkpoint, Broadcom ProxySG, Zscalar ZIA.

5. Advanced understanding of networking technologies and information security best practices.

6. Advanced knowledge in Network, Web and Authentication protocols to perform

network traffic / packet analysis

7. Experience in performing and overseeing technical vulnerability assessments of I&T environment.

8. Technical experience working with LAN/WAN wired and wireless network and security technologies in a large enterprise environment.

9. Technical experience building clustered enterprise network and Cloud infrastructure solutions.

10. Working technical experience in administering remote access infrastructure.

11. Working experience with programing language such as Unix/Linux/Windows shell script, Python

12. Demonstrated familiarity with intrusion detection and vulnerability assessment in perimeter networks.

13. Familiar with theories and requirement of enterprise information security, cloud

security, network security, application security, cryptography, and key management
