Job Title: Regular Part-Time Support Worker

Location: Web 1

Search Area: Open

Wage Rate: $23.08 - $24.46 per hour (includes negotiated rate and permanent compensation enhancement)

Required: Five (5) positions

Schedule: Varied, guaranteed between 48 and 70 hours per pay period; schedules provided at least six weeks in advance

Pathways to Independence seeks five (5) Regular Part-Time Support Workers to join the residential support team, enhancing social, leisure, and daily living activities for adults. Under the supervision of the Client Services Manager, the Support Worker supports adults with dual diagnosis, mental health, behavioral challenges, and forensic service involvement, in line with each individual's life plan.

The Support Worker assists with homemaking, personal care, community engagement, and personal development skills, following the person's Quality of Life Plan and other directives. They will implement strategies and behavior management plans under managerial guidance, ensuring services promote rights, choices, self-determination, independence, and community integration.

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and qualifications:

  • Secondary school diploma and at least a one-year post-secondary certificate in Human or Health Services (proof required).
  • Additional education in dual diagnosis, behavior management, or mental health is an asset.
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification.
  • Valid G class driver’s license.

Preferred abilities include:

  • Providing effective support to clients.
  • Maintaining accurate documentation.
  • Contributing to a positive team environment.
  • Demonstrating a person-centered approach aligned with agency principles.
  • Resolving conflicts professionally.
  • Working independently and in teams.
  • Proficiency in computer use, email, and digital tools.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Advocacy skills for client support.
  • Regular attendance.
  • Experience with adults with dual diagnosis or cognitive impairments in residential or community settings.

All employees must commit to safety. Shifts are typically 12 hours, including days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays, with potential for working with clients exhibiting aggressive behavior.
