Job description

Cadet Camp Blackdown 19 June - 20 August. Short term employment. Full & Part-time hours.

Rations and Quarters may be available if required. Language - English.

IT IS AN HONOR TO PROVIDE HEALTHCARE SERVICES FOR THOSE WHO HAVE SERVED, AND TO THOSE WHO CONTINUE TO SERVE OUR COUNTRY.

Duties And Responsibilities
  1. Perform within defined scope of practice in accordance with the regulatory organization in the province of work;
  2. Perform triage assessment during walk-in hours and patient assessments that include medical or incident history, physical examinations;
  3. Perform nursing interventions such as taking vital signs, applying aseptic techniques including sterile dressing, ensuring infection control, and conducting specimen collection;
  4. Develop a nursing care plan based on the result of the assessment and refer to a physician or other health care provider;
  5. Administer medication as per doctor’s order as per provincial scope of practice and observe and document therapeutic effects;
  6. Complete nursing documentation immediately after each patient interaction;
  7. Communicate any changes or abnormal findings of the patient’s status or condition to the senior clinician. Abnormal is defined as any deviation to the norm, average, or expected;
  8. Perform therapeutic procedures such as injections and wound care;
  9. Administer and monitor established respiratory therapy and intravenous therapy;
  10. Monitor patient’s progress and evaluate effectiveness of nursing interventions; Provide health education to patients;
  11. Perform administrative tasks including responses to patient queries, preparation of medical files for physicians or other healthcare providers, and returning medical files to the health record department;
  12. Assist physicians or other healthcare providers with treatments and procedures;
  13. Act as the point of contact for care coordination and responses to information requests and patient inquiries in the specialty clinic;
  14. Monitor medical supplies and inventory including ordering and replenishing;
  15. Clean all patient care areas between patients;
  16. Clean, sterilize, and package surgical instruments;
  17. Other tasks relevant to this occupational group.
Additionally
  1. Adhere to Bayshore policies and procedures;
  2. Participate in quality activities and continuous improvement initiatives in line with the company's Quality Management System;
  3. Participate in proactive Health & Safety activities while performing all duties;
  4. Notify immediate Supervisor of any Health & Safety risks or concerns;
  5. Complete Accident Reports for all injuries within 24 hours;
  6. Maintain confidentiality of client and corporate information, discussing only with appropriate Bayshore personnel.

Must successfully complete the Police Records Check (PRC)/Vulnerable Sector Screening (VSS) process. These documents are mandatory for working with youth.
