Job summary

Generations Toronto in Don Mills, Toronto, Ontario, is seeking a Registered Practical Nurse to provide professional nursing care to residents in accordance with required medical care and nursing standards. The role includes directing Personal Support Workers and liaising with physicians and the health care team.

You will work under the supervision of the RN, helping implement policies and ensuring residents' needs are met in a long‑term care setting.

Qualifications

Geriatric, rehabilitation or long-term care nursing background.
Knowledge of relevant Ontario statutes and standards of practice.
Current Certificate of Competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario in good standing.

Responsibilities

In collaboration with the Registered Nurse, implements AgeCare policies and procedures on the unit.
Provides input into revision of procedures within the residence and the unit.
Liaises with physicians and other health care team members including external partners.
In the absence of the Registered Nurse, notifies the physician of significant changes in resident status.
Works with health care team to ensure residents' care needs are met.
Provides direction to Personal Support Workers on the care team.
Participates in shift report, ensuring the team is informed of changes in resident status.
