Job description

Our client, a leading supplier of crop input products for row crop and horticulture producers, is searching for a Row Crop Sales Agronomist.

The Row Crop Sales Agronomist will complement and build on the existing row crop business in Ontario by establishing business relationships with customers and identifying new opportunities.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Build on the organization's existing sales program
  • Establish a sound business relationship with customers
  • Maintain and identify new sales opportunities with row crop growers
  • Development of individual grower crop plans, providing innovation and agronomic solutions to maximize grower returns
  • Coordinate customer requests and sales with operations staff to ensure requirements are met
  • Conduct in-field scouting of weeds, insects & diseases
  • Work with industry partners to run field-scale trials for new products & seed
  • Review and oversee the collection of Customer Receivables
  • Willingness to learn and work with a wide variety of row crop processors
DESIRED PROFILE:
  • A post-secondary education, diploma, or degree in Agriculture/Marketing
  • Agricultural experience, particularly in the row crop field
  • Agronomic sales experience (3 years preferred)
  • Certified Crop Advisor designation would be considered an asset
  • Willingness to work flexible hours including evenings & weekends as required
  • Ability to work in cross-functional teams across the Lakeside business structure
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Comprehensive understanding of Microsoft software
  • Plan, present, and organize customer meetings and plot demonstration days
  • Valid G Driver’s license & willingness to provide driver’s abstract
  • Ability to lift & carry up to 60lbs as needed
