Job Summary

A Route Driver is responsible for operating a grease collection truck to collect used cooking oil from restaurants or a fat and bone collection truck to remove raw materials from customer locations.

Nothing in this job description restricts management's right to assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this job at any time.

  • Remove used cooking oil from the customer's location.
  • You are required to maintain an Electronic DOT log.
  • Provides the customer a pick-up receipt and obtains management's signature at the location.
  • Responsible for company vehicle; maintains the vehicle in the cleanest possible manner; operates vehicle per Company, federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Conducts all safety checks and vehicle inspections; operates a vehicle under state, federal, and local regulations and in accordance with company policy and procedures; observes all company safety rules.
  • Complete vehicle condition reports daily; operates under all Company safety standards.
  • Maintains excellent customer relations by providing quality, professional service at all times.
  • Responsible for completing all Company required paperwork per company policies (route tickets, driver vehicle inspection reports, accident reports, mileage reports, service forms, etc.) daily.
  • Responsible for completing route as assigned.
  • Attendance at all safety meetings required; may be asked to serve on Safety Committee.
  • All other duties as assigned by management.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Must possess a valid Class A OR B CDL, with a Tankers Endorsement.
  • Prior route experience within a customer-oriented environment is preferred.
  • Experience with truck hydraulics is a plus.
  • Communicates clearly in verbal and written form.
  • Highly organized; superior time management skills.
  • Ability to maintain composure in difficult situations; adaptable to changing situations.
  • You must have a good driving record.
  • Ability to work well with internal staff and external customers.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide whole numbers.

Physical Demands

  • Constantly required to walk, stand, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crawl, and crouch.
  • Frequently required to sit for extended periods.
  • Regularly required reach with hands and arms.
  • Frequently must push, pull, move, or lift to 100 lbs. repeatedly.
  • Ability to work weekends and/or Overtime as needed.

Job functions will be performed in a commercial motor vehicle, customer locations, and plant environment.
